OchraTest WB OchraTest WB Ochratoxin Testing System
Ochratoxin A is amycotoxin produced by the fungus Aspergillus ochraceous and also by several species of Penicillium fungi. Frequently found in green coffee, ochratoxin A will remain present even after the roasting process.
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is also commonly found in wine, baby food, raw and processed cereals, and dried vine fruits–all of which are regulated by European limits as low as 0.5 ppb. Known to cause kidney damage in animals and as a carcinogen, OTA finds its way into human and animal diets not only from EU-regulated commodities, but also frombarley, oats, and sorghum.
Using monoclonal antibody-based affinity chromatography, OchraTest™WB is a new HPLC-only test for the detection of ochratoxin A using wide bore immunoaffinity columns.With a total volume of 3mL, compared to the total of 1mL in VICAM’s standard columns, OchraTest WB allows for a faster flow rate preferred bymany laboratories and is the ideal cleanup step for any HPLC.
