Re: News - Environmental Safety and Benefits of Growing Hormone-Free Beef

Yesterday a wrote a comment re feed lot death increasing and in this comment I also spoke of eliminating growth hormones in young animals because of the negative side effects for the animals and we must not forget the residue that goes into the environment including the ground water. Everywhere in the world scientists are battling to find new effective antibiotics because of all the traces in our food and waste which make people resistant to the known antibiotics.

This report Environmental Safety and Benefits of Growing Hormone-Free Beef is extremely one sided protecting the chemical industry but not caring and protecting - and that should be your foremost interest - the consumers.

Luckily a great shift is taking place throughout the world - to go more ecological and economical - and that is possible.

No organic certification organisation will certify feed lot beef as organic. There is enough space and if one looks properly after the soil enough food for the animals to roam around freely - resulting in much healthier meat. The animals fertilize the ground they are roaming on and with very little investment these pastures can be turned into high production of grasses etc. I like to suggest to read my comments from yesterday and if anyone needs more info I will gladly supply same. This is also in regards to naturally and inexpensively to improve the soils and the feed.

Regards, Helga
