Old: I have worked along 3 years with male PIC of the series 406. I can tell you that they are male very good for a breeding program and put on weight, because they are transmitters of big characteristic as: speed of growth, yield in channel and low %de dorsal fat. I have results of pigs with average when being born of 1500-1600grs, pigs of 140 days with 95 kg, great formation of their hams for their content of Pietrain. The PIC sells the female Camborough, but it is the worst election in breeding females that you can make.

The main problem of the female PIC is the weakness in assurances, that which makes them of very low durability. Another problem is its low prolificidad and maternal ability. I have listened complaints of these females along the whole American continent, and they almost always coincide in the same thing.

Friends: I have worked with PIC during several years in farms that I advise. The only problem is that they are very meager, for what the milky production is problem, one works with formulas and with consumptions. Very fruitful, 11.2 average. Good maternal ability. Some problems in the paws, but working gives them good results, in some farms they maintain until 9 or 10 childbirths. Mr. Fernando: very good Canadian females, but consider that these last ones are F1, and the other ones are hybrid pigs of several races. The important thing is that the supplier manifests him how to manage them, and that he doesn't tell him that the pigs don't require anything, and that they are very good with minimum conditions. If we want to take place like it should be, it is necessary to provide good conditions, facilities, feeding, health, handling, etc., the best thing.

Friend Fernando: leave clearly that you are of some company that is competition of PIC, if he/she could call this way himself, because the biggest quantity in genetic nuclei of the world is supplied of an or another form of lines or genetic markers of PIC, since this is the one that lidera the investigation and the genetic market in pigs for 40 years. In relation to the C22, it is a sow that has their mainly nutritional demand and after handling, this is very logical and acceptable, since it is the sow more fruitful commercial mother that I have known. At the moment, in Ecuador, we are obtaining in one of the considered farms TOP, 13.23 pigs born by parto/cerda, and 11.8 born alive. As for assurances, that " problem ", with a good diet and handling disappears.
