Emject E-500

Each ml contains: 500 International Units (I.U.) vitamin E (as d-alpha-tocopherol, a natural source of vitamin E), compounded with 20 ethyl alcohol and 1 benzyl alcohol (preservative) in an emulsifiable base.

Supplied in 250 ml multi-dose amber glass vials.

INDICATIONS
EMJECT E-500 is a clear, sterile, non-aqueous solution of vitamin E. This product is intended as a supplemental source of vitamin E.

Natural tocopherols in feedstuffs can be destroyed through processing, ensiling, and storage. A reduced vitamin E intake can result in marginal deficiencies that may not be visible. Newborns are born with low vitamin E status and depend upon colostrum for vitamin E, provided the dam has consumed adequate vitamin E during gestation. Intramuscular or subcutaneous injections offer an efficient and rapid method to increase vitamin E status of animals.

Emject E-500 provides the essential vitamin E needed for piglets post-weaning, when vitamin E status decreases precipitously. Piglets born with low vitamin E status are dependent on colostrum/milk vitamin E content during nursing are in jeopardy of vitamin E deficiency post-weaning as vitamin E status (plasma) falls below 3 micrograms per ml. Injectable as opposed to feed-source vitamin E has been shown to efficiently boost vitamin E status and to enhance the immune status of piglets.
