Silverdust is a safe, non-aggressive desiccant powder. Silverdust contains mainly Lithothamne and Eucalyptus. It is 100 phosphate-free. Silverdust reduces ammonia, this creates a fresher atmosphere resulting in quieter animals and less risk of nervous traits such as tail biting. The percentage of dry matter is 99. Silverdust is able to absorb one time its own weight. By adding fibres the ability of absorbance increases, the disinfecting ability decreases Silverdust at farrowing:
It will rapidly dry the umbilical cord. Resting in their nest, covered with Silverdust, piglets will be comfortable during their first hours. Dipping the piglets directly into Silverdust will help to avoid chilling. Use Silverdust to increase competitiveness at suckling and reduce the time from birth to the first colostrum intake.
Silverdust at weaning:
Weaning, mixing litters and new housing all induce stress. Silverdust will be the only familiar element and will reduce post weaning stress.
Silverdust for dry sows:
