SULFASAL
DESCRIPTION
SULFASAL is a synergistic association of doxycyline, sulphamide and trimethoprim in premix or soluble powder.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
Sulphamethoxypyridacine is a sulphamide with a good absorption and distribution, achieving high pulmonar concentrations.
Doxycycline is a semi-synthetic liposoluble tetracycline that is absorbed for 80-90% and that persists for a long time in the organism due to its strong fixation to plasma proteins. Its half life is 18 to 22 hours. Doxycycline, like other tetracyclines, may form a stable calcium complex in any bone-forming tissue, though in vitro it binds calcium less strongly than other tetracyclines so it is appropiate to administer it to young animals. It has a wide antibacterial action spectrum: Salmonella, E.coli, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Listeria, Chlamydias Corynebacterium, Clostridium, Pasteurella, Actinobacillus, Mycoplasmas and Haemophillus. It is also active against some protozoa like Giardia.
INDICATIONS AND SPECIES
Intended for poultry, pigs, sheep, goats and cattle in the treatment of C.R.D., pasteurelosis, pneumoenteritis, colibacilosis, atrophic rhinitis and pneumonia.
