Intramammary ointment for the treatment of clinical mastitis.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
MAMIVET is an intramammary ointment with a broad antibiotic spectrum thanks to the triple association of antibiotics, enzymes and anti-inflammatories.
Sodium G penicillin is a natural origin antibiotic of the family of betalactamics, that basically affects Gram positive bacteria.
Streptomycin is an antibiotic belonging to the oligosaccharides group. It inhibits bacterial growth by damaging cell membranes and inhibiting protein synthesis. Specifically, it binds to the 16S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, which prevents the release of the growing protein. Its affects basically Gram negative bacteria, especially Pasteurella, Shigella, coliforms and Pseudomona. Some Gram positive germs are also sensitive; like Corynebacterium, Streptococcus and Staphylococcus.
Neomycin is an broad spectrum antibiotic active with Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. It is both a bactericide and a bacteriostatic. It is not absorbed with external use, acting locally.
Trypsin has enzymatic action on necrosed tissues and clots, improving diffusion of the active principles.
Finally, prednisolone, has a local anti-inflammatory effect.
