ALQUEFLAV LECHONES
DESCRIPTION
Powder premix that contains natural and synthetic flavours and sodium saccharinate, intended for piglets.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
Flavours are used in animal nutrition to improve the acceptance of low palatability diets, increase feed intake in high palatability diets or increase intake in high stress periods like weaning.
Many field studies support that adding flavours to feedstuff has some advantages:
- Regulate feed intake, covering taste and smell variations.
- Increase feedstuff intake, improving performance.
- Ensure intake continuity, even in front of changes in formulation.
- Allow higher formulation flexibility.
- Cover unpleasant tastes, like bitter, acid and astringent ones.
- Facilitate change from liquid to solid nutrition in young animals.
- In weaning animals, flavours stimulate salivation and enzyme secretion, create taste preferences, act as antistress agents that reduce nutritional disorders and promote the formation of lean meat because of early-improved intake.
- Preference index in flavoured feedstuffs is higher that in not flavoured feedstuffs, especially in those intended for young animals.
- Flavours persist after granulation processes: aromatic intensity of feed is 70% of original 70 days after granulation.
Swine have different flavour preferences depending on age: piglets like milk, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, lime, orange and apple flavours.
ALQUERFLAV LECHONES is composed by a sweetener together with natural flavours and their synthetic analogues.
INDICATIONS AND SPECIES
It is indicated for piglets from 7 days until 25 k.b.w. to sweeten and intensify feed flavour, giving a milky aroma with herbal and fruit notes.ENGOREPROD 471-2454 20080705
