CLANA arises from de concern of the boards of directors of both AMENA
and CBNA to create an organization for the scientific/technological
exchange among organizations, institutions, and professionals specializing
animal nutrition in Latin America.
CLANA has been designed as a communication/service
organization with a technological format, focused to knowledge exchange
and collaboration in scientific projects, within a multi-region scope.
The
effort that starts today should be spread to associations in all other
countries, in order to provide a stream of ideas and projects, generating
dynamics to meet concrete animal nutrition needs in Latin America.

The Latin-American Academy of Animal Nutrition (CLANA) and the Mexican
Animal Nutrition Specialists Association (AMENA) open their Congress
to the participation of those professionals in animal nutrition that
have an interest in Latin America, Science and technology development
in service to human welfare, nutrition and health.

OBJECTIVES:
- To
provide a forum for the exchange of technical and scientific information
concerning animal nutrition.
- Facilitate the application
of research and technology to livestock production.
- Stimulate education
and the use of shared knowledge to improve animal production on
behalf of the human population well being.
AREAS TO BE PRIVILEGED:
- Productivity.
- Food safety.
- Resource conservation.
- Integration of productive
chains
TYPE OF PAPERS TO BE RECEIVED:
- Original
research. The publication in this format will not prevent subsequent
publication of the paper as a full scientific script.
- Applied research. The application
of original knowledge for the solution of problems.
- Methodology development.
New or adapted procedures for the resolution of problems.
- Field case studies. Investigations
of potential technological solutions for practical animal husbandry
problems.
- Data analysis, only
if they include prospective inferences.
All
submitted papers will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee, whose
participation will be recognized in the event´s proceedings.
The acceptance or rejection of
the papers is a prerogative of the Scientific Committee. Criteria
for acceptance and rejection will be based on the originality, clearness
and scientific merit of the paper, as well as on further instructions
given on this message.
Upon acceptance, future
communications will include the quality standards and expectations
for both oral presentations and written papers or posters.
Sections for the presentation of
short papers include:
- Feeding
and nutrition of ruminants, including forages and grazing.
- Non-ruminant feeding and
nutrition.
- Aquaculture.
- Zoo animals, and wild fauna.
- Pets, and working or sport
animals.
- Feed processing and manufacturing,
including biotech resources, and quality of animal products.
- Ingredients and markets.
