The first and second International Symposia on Milk Genomics & Human Health were presented in 2004 and 2005 by the California Dairy Research Foundation (CDRF) on behalf of the International Milk Genomics Consortium (IMGC).
The symposium is specifically designed to advance the collective knowledge of how milk components promote health and to provide collaboration in efforts to isolate the functional mechanisms behind milk´s physiological benefits.
The 3rd International Symposium on Milk Genomics & Human Health is offered through joint organization by the California Dairy Research Foundation (CDRF) and the International Dairy Federation (IDF) on behalf of the International Milk Genomics Consortium (IMGC).
The International Milk Genomics Consortium is a partnership of companies, associations and academic affiliates with the goals of leveraging existing resources for the assembly of genetic instructions for milk molecules, linking the scientific community for better understanding of the biological values of milk, creating tools for an interactive, Web data exchange, coordination of pre-competitive research to develop baseline data, and providing a foundation for the development of exclusive/competitive research.
Program sessions for the 3rd International Symposium will focus on two key areas:
• Genomics – Regulation of Lactation Genes.
• Milk Peptides – Sequence and Targets.
