DOXIMICINA
DESCRIPTION
Doxycycline and erythromycin in oral and injectable solution.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
DOXIMICINA is a product based on the synergetic association of two antibiotics. Doxycyline is a semi-synthetic liposoluble tetracycline that is absorbed for 80-90 % at digestive level and that persists for a long time in the organism due to its strong fixation to plasma proteins. Its half life is 18 to 22 hours. Doxycycline, like other tetracyclines, may form a stable calcium complex in any bone-forming tissue, though in vitro it binds calcium less strongly than other tetracyclines so it is appropiate to administer it to young animals. It has a wide action spectrum: Salmonella, E. coli, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Lysteria, Mycoplasmas, Corynebacterium, Clostridium, Clamydias, Pasteurella, Actinobacillus and Haemophillus. It is also active against some protozoa like Giardia. Erythromycin is a macrolid antibiotic that is quickly absorbed and diffused in tissues and blood fluids. It is eliminated through kidney and bilis. It operates on the protein synthesis and it is active against Staphylococcus, Mycoplasma, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium and Clostridium.
