Disposable foam catheter with closing cap, mod 2003
The MS foam catheter has a spongy, squeezable catheter tip. This special tip prevents bruising and damage to the cervix. More importantly this catheter tip ensures that the cervix is always perfectly sealed, irrespective of the breed, age or size of the sow. This seal minimizes the back flow of semen during insemination, so that all the semen can be used for fertilization. This special catheter tip actually imitates the effect of tapioca grains in natural service. These grains, which occur in the last phase of the ejaculation, form a sticky plug in the cervix, which also locks up the uterus. The special hygienic closing cap prevents back flow of the semen through the catheter. This catheter has been specially developed to stay inside the sow for some time after fertilization. This will stimulate contractions of the uterus and thus increase absorption of the semen.
