The natural route of infection is the nasofaringe, that is to say, the part of the pharynx above the veil of the palate. The initial place of reproduction is located in the mucous one nasal and tonsils, of where he/she moves to the nervous system and pulmones.Durante the bud of the illness the morbilidad it is of 20% and the mortality of 90%, being the most susceptible the pigs smaller than 20 days of age. The clinical signs vary according to the age of the animals: in pigs it is characterized by a rigidity in the later members, muscular tremor and involuntary movements, dying to the 48 hrs. later to the appearance of the first symptoms, and in pigs bigger than 30 days little neurological damage is shown and only some die for the infection. In mature pigs the main manifestations are of reproductive type: in the pregnant females a setback is presented to the period of zeal, there are fetal mummifications and an increment in the number of dead pigs when being born, and in the males inflammation of the testicles is presented and of the epidídimo, besides atrophy testicular. For all these reasons, this illness has an important repercussion in the economy of the porcicultores.
TREATMENT In the last ten years, new investigation lines have been developed for bovine experimental that consist in the use of alive bacterias or attenuated as vehicles payees of strange antigens.

My dear Dina Coral, I am the Dr. Emilio Moral Fields who for the first time reported this syndrome here in pigs in Mexico. Later on other MVZ has published works of viral isolations where Paramixovirus, Citomegalovirus and Herpes type I has been studied, this is not an illness, it is a syndrome or a symptom that it is observed like an answer of type of immunologic hipersensibilidad that is denominated Reaction of Arthurs type 3, is also observed in dogs, in hatchery foxes that have suffered illnesses like the canine hepatitis and distemper, in human as a reaction to the virus of the measles, in bovine in animals that have suffered problems of IBR bovine viral Ritraqueitis, in birds that illnesses like the Newcastle and Laringotraquietis have suffered, as well as in animals that have hepatic damage and that they have a riboflavina deficiency.
The first work was presented in The Congress of AMVEC in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, Gro. in July of 1981, and later on it was presented in the world congress of specialists in pigs IPVS of Mexico, in August of 1982, and in different congresses of AMVEC, the M.V.Z. Tie it Martinez, investigating Pablo Belt of SAGARPA of the INIFAP, they presented a work of viral isolation of a Paramixovirus, bound to this syndrome. At the same time Victor Gay and other professors of the UNAM, also report the isolation of another virus Paramixovirus, and in 1989 LAPISA with their team of investigators present a work of viral isolation of a Citomegalovirus.
This syndrome is very common in the pigs (15 at 30) that recover of the illness of Aujeszky or that they are in areas enzoóticas of the Illness of Aujeszky, like it is the center of the country. For more information, you find my data right here in this forum.
I wait it serves you this communication, I say goodbye and greetings.

Dr. Emilio Moral Fields, my name is Diana, I am a student of veterinary. I take the audacity of bothering it to ask him if he/she has some picture of the signs that causes this syndrome, since I have a presentation for my group of classes, and I don't find pictures.
Ahead of time thank you...
