I Congratulate the author to supplement the biodigestores topic to small scale that you/they are those that podrìan to help in the economìa of properties autosustentables. In Ecuador the gas domèstico is subsidized by the state and making cost-benefit relaciòn is not profitable to make a biodigestor since a cylinder of gas of 15 kg it costs 1,60 American dòlares and usarìa 1 ò 2 a month. I wait màs news especially a chart to taste the proportion of material òrganico to break down and the result of gas to produce segùn the temperature of the sector. Thank you

Dear Engineer Retana:
I find very interesting their two articles published in this forum on the biodigestor of polyethylene of low cost, type Taiwan.
With all the respect that you deserve me as person and as professional representative of so important institution of the Costa Rican state, me as Facilitator of the Learning of the University EARTH in Costa Rica, I suggest him that from now on it mentions the bibliographical references of where he/she has taken their information, for respect to the authors and institutions on topics that they are not of their responsibility.
For their information and that of the participants in this forum, the model biodigestor Taiwan was developed in this country and it was taken to Colombia by the Dr Thomas Preston in 1986. There, in the Center for the investigation in Sustainable Systems of Production Agricultural-CIPAV we adapt this model to the polyethylene, accessories and reciclaje materials that are in the market of the countries of Tropical America.
The Dr Preston and I develop the exit valve and the valve of security that he/she is placed at the moment and we write a manual on this technology.
I introduced this biodigestor model to the University EARTH in February of 1994. However, the institution leader in Costa Rica on the investigation in biodigestion has been the Technological Institute of Costa Rica - ITCR.
The bibliographical reference is:
Boatman, R. and T.R. Preston. 1987. Biodigestor of low cost for the production of fuel and fertilizer starting from you excrete. Manual for their installation, operation and use. I center for the Investigation in Sustainable Systems of Agricultural Production (CIPAV), Cali, Colombia. 30p.
To consult it in: http://usi.earth.ac.cr/glas/sp/biodigestor.pdf

Receive all a cordial and respectful greeting,

Dear Doctor Boatman: Thank you for the kindness of their words about the articles in mention, sincerely. I write to thank so opportune suggestion of the bibliographical references, it is not my interest neither my intention to declare me author or developer of the biodigestor Taiwan or their parts, I am only a multiplier of the information that said it is in passing very appropriately it was gathered by one of the egresados of their noted University and at the moment he/she works with us, this way demonstrable in the printed pamphlets.

As always, with all consideration and respect

Engineer Allan, very been worth and opportune his explanation, to multiply technological information is not declares owner of the same one, and I believe that we see this way it all, although the position of them is very respectable.
Thank you.

I find very interesting these handmade biodigestores, because they can offer us a series of benefits, as it is it a biogas that you can use for heating, or to generate electric power. But I believe that the most important aspect is the reduction of the methane toward the atmosphere. I think that in a future all cattle exploitation, not caring their size, they should have a biodigestor, and this way to reduce the quantity of methane that leaves to the atmosphere.
