I found a very didactic and illustrative article. I want to build a biodigestor to take advantage of the gas for the gestation cages and weaning. I need information in the construction form and biodigestores handling. I thank them from already their collaboration.

Excellent article. Of what does it leave the pictures they are? They are very interesting the projects of each one of the stages of the farm here in Mexico, for what is the waste of fecal residuals, we are implementing the biodigestores, and now we are producing biogas with which are generating energy for our farms, and making more productive our companies, and reducing pollutants. Soon I will publish them an article based on the biodigestores, their operation and benefits.

For Diego Diaz and Hector Botello: Hello friends, don't they find that our global village is more and more small?
When one wants to build a biodigestor, independently of the form and size. The first question that it should be responded it is about the temperature in that he/she will work. For such an effect three technological states exist:
-Psycrophilico whose good temperature of fermentation fluctuates among 15/18ºC, and the time that delays the fermentation until its total degradation of the sustrato can arrive until the 120 days, in cold climates the danger that the process stops exists.
- Mesophilico whose good temparatura is of 37ºC, and its time of fermentation is of 30 days.
-Thermophilico whose good temperature is of 55 ºC, and its time of fermentation decreases to only 15 days.
As you he/she can deduce, if you fear us a certain mass of organic substance and in
the state psycrophilico, and we need 120 m3 to degrade it, in the Mesophilico we would need 30 m3, and in the Thermophilico only 15m3.
The psycrophilico is only used for handmade biodigestores of little volume and little production biogas.
The industrial biodigestores works in the mesophilia ranges and termophilia, and what is more advisable than it is a combination of both. Recently that the European Union has determined that the biodigestores systems work in cascade: 33 days in mesophilia and 22 days in thermophilia, with it is guaranteed it the total desactivación of any germ patógeno.
The best biodigestor built by the nature constitutes it the digestive system of the bovine one, it is anaeróbico because it doesn't enter oxygen to its stomach, he/she has a constant temperature (37ºC), he/she has movement, he/she has the correct pH, he/she has the necessary bacterias, and like he/she has several cavities, each one fulfills a certain function in the formation of the biogas, it is more, a bovine one burps around 20 litros/d of biogas.
To determine the volume of the digestor he/she leaves for the energy necessities, or also of the quantity of existent organic matter.
In the concrete case of the swinish ones they evacuate 2 of their alive weight in you excrete, and the 3 in urines, this it excretes fresh it contains the 16 of dry substance and the 12 of dry organic substance (oTS). This 12 of oTS are the one that becomes biogas. When it is dimensionar a biodigestor that goes to be mechanized, he/she mixes water + oTS in a proportion of 11 oTS and 89 of water, and I eat most of the industrial biodigestores they are of intermittent flow, and if we work in the mesophilia range we will feed him with a 1/30 part of their volume, and for ende the digestor will also evacuate 1/30 parts of its volume of that beautiful organic payment, the quantity of biogas will be proportionally to the oTS weight that enters to the digestor, and the charts indicate us that for each oTS Kg, in the case of the pigs, it will be generated like average 0.45 m3 of biogas.
Other considerations that should be taken into account in this fermentation, exist but for space reasons I should limit myself.
If I have not bored them and they have some question, with pleasure I will answer them to him.

Excellent article and very demonstrative. Is it of thinking of the insemination method, how many services for conception there is? How so viable the system is of leaving drenar the semen without attendance and weight in the back? It is sustained that the weight of the reproducer in the moment of it mounts it it induces the quantity of ova, that is to say in the ovulation rate, and it is evident in the conception rate. It is of looking well at these points. Excellent presentation and investigation. Congratulations.

The article specifies aspects that should be considered in the moment to implement a project porcícola, it is of a great value because it involves the whole productive cycle. Nevertheless I consider that for the case of the conditions of our country, it should be adjusted in the topic of the materials for the construction of the galpones (guadua). If you have information in this respect, it would be important that it will publish it. Apart from this, it is of very good information.

Sres colleagues and Latin American friends: I thank them the critics of the article. In these moments I am preparing Swinish Farm 1 that is an illustration of different constructive systems with special emphasis in the ventilation (forced natural y/o), in the different rooms of the confinamiento. In what concerns to recommendations and specific advice, I advise them to contact my stall of electronic mail by means of the intermediation of ENGORMIX, to be able to offer them my professional support. It is fundamental the technical and economic advice in the constructive tipología when this activity type begins. Thank you to read me, and I am to their orders in what corresponds.

in fact, I congratulate him for its eloquent explanation of this hatchery system, but he/she wanted to know the climate since in which is, I am of the coastal area of the Ecuador, and in something he/she has to see the climate for different types of races. Could he/she give me the costs settled down in dollars of this excellent article?
Thank you.

Dear colleagues, although it is certain that this article is very illustrative and with an excellent engineering, but to great scale, perhaps some indications for a swinish farm to small and medium scale would be of an incredible value for most of people.
Thank you.

good afternoon to all. He/she wanted in first instance to thank them the participation in this forum that I find of enormous importance to improve the swinish production in Latin America. In my opinion we can among all (producers, professionals and readers), to achieve an optimization of farms for small and medium producers, using minimum resources in particular for each region.
I will be the most synthetic thing possible in this summary of answers, to be able to analyze in combined form all the conclusions Macro in this forum, for already to be able to enter of full to the next publication that will be detailed, but with comments more related to an analysis Micro of this type of Farms.

- Engineer Cardinal red Hernando of Costa Rica, I wait to have corresponded him with the article published days behind of “production of Biogás, exactly to use the swinish deyecciones in form programmed by means of the sanitary holes of each confined room, an integral use is completed with the methane production and inputs of high fertility, since they provide to each small Farm of a total production autonomy, optimization of costs, high yields in quality and quantity.

- Mr. Oscar Oviedo, do the measures of the different rooms go according to the investment plan that wants to develop, if he/she wants to begin with a minimum of 50 mothers until arriving to a production with 150 mothers, he/she only wants to make reproduction or only growth? For this reason it is convenient to study each case in particular, to make a report of technical data “in situ” that is to say in their farm, and to be able to decide what solution type it is the most appropriate, either to short, medium or I release term, it depends on their election. The measures are very varied, I advise him that before being begun it advises very well with their area technician, they will surely advise him mixed facilities. If it is this way, write me that I can help him and a lot.

- Mr. Dart Perpignan King (Colombia), with this type of Confinamientos, the periods of paying-off are very low, the costs are minimized by the excellent yield and quality of the generated product, certifying quality. You are under conditions of exporting to any country of high I consummate porcícola, and it will be rewarded by the exchange rate of currency of that country importer, since you sell foods of high quality.

- Engineer Euster Alcibar Acosta (Ecuador), to begin with 10 reproductoras and to only make reproduction for my humble opinion I advise him a project of construction of short term (3 years) up to 50–70 mothers to future, Gestation in box and individual cages, 20 parideras distributed in 5 small rooms of 4 parideras c/u and it salts of weaning up to 30 Kg. all the rooms in an only building water heater-ventilated with forced ventilation, camera of air, with materials of the place, concrete, economic wooden suspenders, concrete blocks 20x20x40, floors concrete ranurados (groove 1,8 cm.) carried out in the own granja(0,60x1,20mts), economic extractors, curtains of PVC for lateral cerramiento, etc., the approximate surface is from 500 to 600m2 (a single building). Apart from this write me that I can advise him at distance, because I have all the computerized information and with a lot of pleasure I will help him.

- Mr. Diego Díaz (Tucumán–Argentina), dear Diego, I advise you that you enter to the forum of the article “biogás production” that there will have solved some conceptual doubts of methane production.

- Mr. Andrés Taken a bath Oñate (Araucania–Chile), I find very interesting their comment. With regard to the behavior of the boar in confinamiento, they already commented me several specialists in the topic that this animal has the same characteristics of upbringing that the pigs in confinamiento, therefore if he wants information of projects of constructions for reproduction y/o growth, he would want to know which his integral project would be, with a lot of pleasure he/she would help him, the technical information is available for its case in particular. Consult my stall of mail for ENGORMIX that I have all the digitized information.

- Mr. Pablo Infants Chávez (Lima - Peru), it would be a pleasure to be able to carry out some confinamiento project on the whole to closed cycle with biogás production, adaptive to your region, you for what I have read are a very prepared professional in what concerns him. Is my opinion that each person should carry out the list laborativo that concerns him, in her case its specialty that you/they are the operation of these blessed biodigestores, is not? I like very much their technical contributions that prestigian these forums, sincerely. A cordial greeting.

- Mr. Gastón Formiconi (Bs Ace–Argentina), for that small quantity of mothers I find logical to work to open field that won't have difficulties for the handling of the animals, I advise him that option, on the other hand if he/she wants to pass to a minimum of 50 -70 mothers to future I advise him the semi-intensive confinamiento for the first periods.

- Engineer Manuel Toasts Hernández (Coahuila–Mexico), it is a pleasure to contact me with YOU for this means, I am not veterinary, neither graduate in animal administration, neither Engineer Zootecnista, but for all the farms that I have built and having been able to observe the operation search - construction, the treatment to the animals in the gestation cages is of high caution, completely hygienic and of good treatment with appropriate tools, since it is fundamental in the production to generate in that area a high stimulation without causing estrés, neither illnesses. Apart from this I cannot make him comments in this respect, since my function is to build in the best way that the competent professional requires.

- Dr Bosco Farmer (Panama), exactly the objective of these publications is to be able to inform and to create with basic concepts to the youths and new producers a new way to take place and to inform to future that other forms of animal production of high comfort zootécnico exist, it is fundamental to educate in our regions with real arguments and without stopping to keep in mind something that is fundamental that it is the very left environmental impact of side for many questions that non polemizaré in these comments.

- Dr. Fernando Contreras Molina (Lima–Peru), I thank him their comment, but the answer is similar to the previous one.

- Mr. Elio Becerra (Miranda–Venezuela), dear friend, finds him onerous to build with materials as Concrete, wood, metallic structures with pre-painted iron angle, very light, curtains of PVC, of course that they exist automations that initially they are not necessary to place them, but when you begins with this type of facilities yourself he will go reinvesting, it changes the administration type totally.

- Mr. Héctor Enrique Botello Morantes (Merida - Venezuela), dear Sr, I ask him fervently him to consult the article “Production of Biogás” that there in that forum it will begin to be taken out several doubts.

- Engineer Manuel Olive (Santa Cruz–Bolivia), dear friend, don't I understand him their question? good times of construction, construction costs, improvement of weight in these confined rooms? If it is this way, I respond him saying that a building of 600 m2, only considering the time of construction, assembly and other, that is to say in putting into operation working in form contínua, with a plan of well programmed work advance, in 4 months he/she has the building with inspection cameras and tank of efluentes stock finished to be able to put the animals and to begin to take place. I also comment him that the interior equipment also begins to take place from the moment that the work begins, everything carried out of course with manpower of its farm and suppliers of the place.

- Mr. Miguel Alberto Moncada (Cundinamarca–Colombia), he/she would thank him if he/she can enter to the forum of “production of Biogás” that I believe that there he/she will be able to begin to familiarize with the topic.

- Ing Javier Darío Bahamon Packs of cards (Cundinamarca–Colombia), I thank him their critic, but their question goes focused for my collaborators that are veterinary and graduates in animal administration, he/she can only respond him of questions with orientation of constructive tipologías of buildings in confinamiento.

- Mrs. Esperanza of the Seeded Pilar Alfonso (Cundinamarca–Colombia), from already my affectionate greetings for their hit upon comments, and also to be interested in the published article, I can respond him that for this emprendimientos type I have projected different type of economic buildings of high yield, with appropriate materials that have readiness in the area that you/they are functional to generate integration among the producers, and also to create manpower in the respective regions to carry out minimum economic efforts. It would be of fundamental importance the official support on your behalf, the subsidized projects contemplate a sheet of specifications, with plans of work advance to be able to pay for work certification, the periods of return or I recover they are short term, with low period of grace, since when he/she closes the first productive cycle (that is approximately to the 6to or 8vo month of having concluded the work), the producer would begin to return the money that would be a percentage of the really obtained production. Dear Esperanza, if he/she wants more details he/she doesn't doubt to consult me because I possess information of works carried out in this respect. Thank you to read me.

- Mr. SIMÓN GOES (Guarico–Venezuela), dear producer, consult since with Engormix my electronic mail that I can advise him at distance, I possess all digitized information.

- Mrs. Candy Towers (Merida–Venezuela), dear producer, I thank him their critics and he/she wanted to make him a synthetic comment for the Pro-natural Cooperative in which you participate. The projects of these farms in confinamiento have a merely integrative objective of producers, that is to say while some producers only work in Reproduction (gestation-childbirth), others only work in Growth (it Weans - up to 30-40 kg and Put on weight from 30 kg up to 100-130kg), the cooperative works as coordinator of the phase of primary production, commercialization and transport, he/she means that when generating a cooperative project ahead of time, in the sheet of specifications they come explained the production volume that the cooperative wants to develop according to the quantity of producers that you/they want to participate, each one with its work specifies, the constructive tipología of the farms is similar since one works with a variety of races and productive perfomance that it should be respected to achieve an appropriate certification for export and internal consumption, it is important in these cases to respect a normative cooperative that will give prestige to future and sustainable progress in the time. I have enough information digitized by what the distance doesn't demand any impediment. Thank you to read me.

- Mr. Eduardo López L. (Manabi–Ecuador), dear friend, for this type of constructions, if the emprendimiento is near the area coastal Ecuadorian he/she doesn't have any problem of races, neither of climate, yes one keeps in mind the address of predominant winds and the protection from the structure to the aggression oxidizer, that is to say I advise in these cases a good galvanic protection to the metallic structures, a good water heater-ventilation in childbirth rooms and weaning (forced ventilation) and it stops gestation–it puts on weight (natural ventilation). Please don't stop to consult he/she stops to require him more climatological and other data to detail the technical collaboration.

- Oscar Cousin (Pichincha–Ecuador), dear Oscar, I believe that with all the answers that previously have carried out, there are had more than enough indications to carry out small and medium farms in confinamiento, the improvement is remarkable low different points of view, it is of course my humble opinion.

- Dr.Gustavo Flowers Dávila (Mexico–Mexico), I thank him their critic, I hope to be he useful in what corresponds.

- Dr.René Eduardo (Piura–Peru), dear René, if you read all these answers that I have given, thoroughly for their profession of managing numbers in the administration financial, short period of return, low period of paying-offs, high yield indexes and quality, good commercialization with big certification possibilities for export, under environmental impact, that is to say they exist multiple factors that ameritan this type of investments.

He/she notices: Another time, from already thank you to read me and I am to your disposition for what corresponds.
