Excellent article. This study of the offspring of three types of pigs sample clearly as the pigs of the line Dalland expresses its genetic potential better, and significantly they overcome the Duroc and Seghers. It is a very complete study and very fact, and also sample clearly the production parameters. I congratulate them.

did he/she Want to know the line Dalland that obtained the best results, what crossings he/she has and of what races?
Quite interesting the results, since an improvement in the nutritious conversion and in the quality of the channel, it represents us big quantities from money to the end. Thank you again, and I look forward to the answer.

Answer to Andrés Sandoval...
I am not the most suitable to offer an answer with regard to the Line Daland, first because I didn't work in the test of this experiment, neither I am very sure of the races that have used to develop this line, and lastly you that there are many other people in this forum much more experts of the topic. But yes I can guide you with regard to the difference that is a line crossing and one of pure animals. I find that you want to know the origin of the line Daland to try to imitate her. Although I don't have a categorical answer for what you ask, yes I can tell you that the different companies that develop lines make a selection of superior animals of different races, and they cross them to fix some characteristics that are transmitted to the offspring. This is not achieved as easy as to know which the origin races are and to cross them, and you already have that same product. These lines are the result of many years of investigation and selection of animals that maximize the heterosis or hybrid vigor when crossing them. The companies develop maternal lines that transmit characteristic of production and quality and good weight of the pigs when being born and to the weaning. On the other hand, they also develop padrotes lines that impart quality in the physiologic characteristics and the efficiency of the growth and development of the pig. You should understand and to know how these characteristics and the levels of heredabilidad of each are inherited one of them. Some of these are the núm. of alive born pigs, núm. of weaned pigs, I Weigh when being born, and other more... Depending the crossing type that you make, you will obtain a heterosis percent or hybrid vigor. Although I don't have the time and space to explain to you this in detail, if I can tell you in summary that each crossing system has its advantages and disadvantages. And you should look for that system that is adjusted better to your necessity of producing a pig of quality, as the consumer he/she requests it, and in the possible more economic way. I recommend you that you get books on pig crossing and study the different types of crossings with pure races, I use of the terminal padrote and the crossings of lines, and choose that that is more convenient for tí and you follow it. Guide you with a specialist in genetics so that you know the advantages and disadvantages. The companies of lines guarantee a 100 of hybrid vigor, and you can obtain better genetic advances and channel quality in short term, but that has a price. If your market pays that advantage well, it is worthwhile to have that pig quality. It is a lot that one can speak with regard to this topic... I hope this explanation can be of help for tí...

Engineer Jimenez Alfaro, the advantages that he/she offers the line Dalland are good for the producer, for the rising thing I thank the information from where to get the semen (farms, company, etc), or sires for their introduction in Yucatan.

Happiness for this publication with an excellent statistical description, what gives great dependability to the results. Very good article. It was in fact looking for some information on the ages of the different phases, and here it is perfectly described. Thank you.

Very good article. I have left following doubts. This work is in oneself farm. Same handlings and same feeding. There is not place to doubts it is necessary to evaluate the genetics scientifically since the data that present us to sell, they are in farms with a so much specialization level in the handling like in the feeding.
In comments here signal on the races that compose this Dallan lines, they are right. You cannot make genetic as the commercial houses that it also takes them years of investigation, they have the number of animals for pòder to obtain with you cross and selection the improvements in genetics.
Important, with which it is counted and up to where you can challenge the pigs to grow obtaining the prospective results.
This points out it since many times encounter questions in the forums on alternative of feeding to diminish the costs and I don't believe that these results are with a production in earth corrals like herdsmen, fed with the bakery waste, with yam, waste of cookies, etc.
They also exist other you line with more speed of growth and inclusive but expensive, but everything goes in function of the comfort that is offered so that it expresses the potential. Of anything he/she serves to buy hogs of $60,000 if the initial food of the pig doesn't contain a good balance like preiniciador that epermita that the pig grows.
Again an excellent article.
