Congratulations for the article, and thank you for the information given on the topic of the biodigestores. Crossing one of the worst crises in the electric system are at the moment in our country. We don't produce a drop of petroleum and the import of this non renewable resource represents the value of almost all our exports.

Through the National Commission of Energy, beginning a plan pilot to install biodigestores in cattle exploitations are at the moment (pigs and bovine mainly). We have also agreed to install a demonstrative biodigestor in a point of great affluence of people. it is the Cattle City where annually he/she takes place the agricultural national fair. In this enclosure they inhabit in a permanent way about 200 horses in whose stables accumulate manure that cleans daily jointly with the bed of wooden sawdust that serves as absorbent material. I read in their article that the wood is not good sustrato pra to produce methane.
what procedure you suggest to take advantage of this material that daily according to a sampling that we made it arrives to 6,250 Libras (3,000 Kg).

Dear Dr. Toribio Bolivar: very grateful for their kind comments about the biodigestores like energy generators taking advantage of the organic matters of having undone.
Indeed the countries that don't have sources of energy covencionales like petroleum or gas propano/metano and mainly those that have not prepared their technicians in alternative energy sources will suffer a lot that we know it.
Because it is not time of speaking a lot of sinó to make a lot.
If you don't have petroleum or gas they should sow the Jatrophia Course or colza to prepare their biodiesel that will move them their transport or it will generate them electric power.
With regard to their question to their question on on the horse guano we will take it as example for graficar the potential of energy that represent those undone organic:
You say that he/she has aprox 3,000 kilos/d of fresh guano of equine, like average this guano has 28 percent of dry substance, that is to say you, he/she would have 840 kilos/d of dry substance, this dry substance he/she has like average 84 percent of dry organic substance that is the one that will produce him the biogas, that is to say 705 oTS kilos/d, the ratio of conversion of this oTS in biogas is like average 1kilo oTS = 0.30 m3biogas, with that which you could generate 211 m3/d of biogas that could have an equivalent one energy of 126 liters of petroleum or of 42 propane gallons.
If this mass of biogas transforms it into electricity you could obtain between 380 and 527 Kw/h depending on the methane content in the biogas.
I reiterate myself that the wood is an inhibitor of the development of the bacterias inside the digestor it is necessary to look for another material for the beds.
The technology is also a very important factor in the technical and economic aspect in in the generation of the biogas, if you build a biodigestor without heating the time of retention of the sustrato it could arrive up to 120 days, if you heat it to 37º C (mesophilia) the time of so that the sustrato is degraded totally I will be of 30 days and if it heats it to 55 ºC (Thermophilia) the time of degradation will decrease to 15 days, like you can appreciate the volumes of the digestores they decrease of volume according to the used technology.

Hello Helder. Indeed, the monogástricos absorbs less the nutrients, and that leaves in the charts of conversion excretas/biogas. The organic substance of it excretes it of the hen, for ejemplo,1 kg. of their organic substance he/she takes place like average 0.48 m3 of biogas, and if the camparamos with the organic substance of it excretes it of the cow that has the developed better digestive system, he/she only takes place like average 0.25 m3.
