DESCRIPTION
Amoxicillin trihydrate and nalidixic acid in injectable and oral solution.
TECHNICAL PROPERTIES
AMOXIVET is a synergic association between two antibiotics, namely a beta-lactamic and a quinolone.
Amoxicillin is a penicillin active against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., penicillin-susceptible Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus spp., Enterococcus faecalis, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Salmonella spp.
Nalidixic acid is a first generation quinolone, specially used for the most pathologically important Gram negative bacteria: coliforms, Salmonella and Pasteurella.. It operates by inhibiting the DNA polymerase which inhibits DNA replication. After oral administration it is quickly and completely absorbed. After injection, plasma peaks are achieved 6 hours after administration. It is eliminated through the urine.
SPECIES & INDICATIONS
Indicated for poultry, pigs, sheep, goats and cattle in the treatment of respiratory infections, infections of the joints, reproductive infections, urinary infections, digestive infections and skin infections.
Specially in salmonellosis, listeriosis, mastitis, metritis, pneumonia, erysipelas, diarrhoeas and actinobacillosis.
