With great pleasure we have received on August 2006 the approval of the Official Delegates of the ALA (Latin American Poultry Association), granting La Havana, capitol city of our Republic, the honour to be the next venue for the XXI Latin American Poultry Congress, to be held on October 2009, under the motto “Food Safety: Guarantee of future”.
Such news filled Cuban poultry farmers with pride and satisfaction, producers who, absorbed in the serious commitment that implies the generation of products needed to nourish our Island´s inhabitants, will have a greater one: to be gentle, welcoming hosts of a Congress that always achieves its major aims: to contribute to a bigger approach of the Latin American poultry family, which is indispensable in the current circumstances the world is living in, where the meaning of the words brotherhood, togetherness and respect are losing their essence and true sense.
The Latin American poultry, due to the deep impact displayed on its contribution in our people´s nourishment, and it is needed today more than ever the defence of this kind of meeting, not only on a exchange level, as promotion of the scientific and technical development that the very activity generates and to exhibit all kind of progress related to the industry, but also as a conciliatory location to outline policies and strategies that contribute in its aim to strengthen, protect and prepare the industry to face the laws which rule today an unfair, inadequate international market, that at last make the sector vulnerable, with serious affectations and consequences for national productions.
La Havana, capital of the biggest islands of the Caribbean Sea, feels the joy from its poultry farmers and shares this happiness with every Cuban: may everyone who visits us take an imperishable memory of his stay in our beautiful land. We bet on our creativity and imagination to make them feel like at home, and we predict that the knowledge, exchange, experiences -even the leisure and enjoyment- won´t be left to chance.
